The Department of Mathematics and Statistics (http://www.math.sdsu.edu/) at San Diego State University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position in Mathematics Education at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2016.

Applicants should have a doctorate in mathematics education or a related field.  Preference will be given to candidates a research program focused on undergraduate mathematics education with promising connections to other STEM fields, a strong background in mathematics, and exemplary teaching skills. Candidates should demonstrate the potential and commitment to seek extramural funding. Experience working with K-16 students is desirable, as is experience working with preservice or inservice teachers.

Responsibilities of the position include graduate and undergraduate teaching, as well as research supervision and mentoring.  Mathematics Education programs within the department include a BA degree in mathematics in preparation for the Single Subject Teaching Credential and two Master of Arts for Teaching Service programs. Faculty also participate in the Joint Doctoral Program in Mathematics and Science Education, offered with the University of California at San Diego.
