The Grand Valley State University Department of Mathematics seeks applications for both an affiliate faculty position and a visiting faculty position in mathematics education beginning August 2024. Affiliate faculty teach 24-28 credits per year on a 9-month contract. Affiliate faculty positions are full-time, permanent positions. Visiting faculty are contract positions with a teaching load of 24 credits per year and are renewable for up to 3 years.
Education requirements for both positions are either a master’s degree in mathematics education or a master’s degree in a related field with a combination of either 18 graduate credit hours or evidence of tested experience related to expertise in math education or math teacher education or elementary teacher professional development in math. Evidence of effective teaching is also required.
