The Mathematics Education Program Area in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction (CUIN) at the University of Houston seeks scholars and seasoned professionals for a full time lecturer appointment in Elementary Mathematics Education and Teacher Education. The Department seeks applicants with expertise in K-6th grade mathematics education. Successful candidates will embrace a strong committment to teaching, excellence, student succes, academic integrity, diversity, social justice, and community engagement.
Responsibilities include rigorous teaching in the Elementary Mathematics Education- Teacher Education program with a 4-4 teaching load. More specificially, this includes teaching undergraduate courses in a teacher preparation program usign face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats.
Applicants for this position must hold at least a Masters degree in Mathematics Education or a closely related discipline. Doctoral degrees are preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong evidence of effective undergraduate teaching ability, committment to student success, and service to the profession. Experience in the K-6 system is preferred, but not required. A candidate's qualifications must be commensurate with appointment as a Full-time Lecturer.
