Warning message

Submissions for this form are closed.

The AMTE Standards for Mathematics Teacher Preparation Initiative project will produce a set of standards describing a national vision for the initial preparation of mathematics teachers PK-12. These standards will guide the improvement of individual teacher preparation programs (no matter their accrediting agency) and promote national dialogue and action related to mathematics teacher preparation.

The standards will include discussions on candidate knowledge, skills, and dispositions; program characteristics and qualities; assessment of candidates and programs; and strategies for achieving the vision.

  • detailed Table of Contents for the whole document, which includes current draft statements of the standards and indicators for Chapters 2 & 3
  • the current draft of the Preface and Chapter 1
  • and one indicator for each standard in Chapter 2

We encourage you to read our current drafts and provide feedback using the form below prior to Monday, February 15, 2016.
