Assistant Professor

Positions to begin August 2017.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have completed by August 15, 2017 either a) a doctorate in Mathematics Education with at least 21 hours of graduate coursework in Mathematics, or b) demonstrable expertise in Mathematics Education with a Ph.D. in Mathematics.
• Candidates for the position must have at least some collegiate teaching experience in mathematics or statistics at the level of the introductory college Statistics course or the Calculus sequence or below. Moreover, candidates for each of the positions must show evidence of outstanding teaching ability, have an active research program or demonstrated strong potential for research, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates whose doctoral degree is not complete at the time of the submission of their application must submit with their application a timeline clarifying the completion of the doctoral degree by August 15th, 2017.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching a variety of undergraduate courses and graduate courses in their specialty, maintaining an on-going program of research and scholarly activity, and participation in university and departmental service. Scholarly activity may include being active in state, local, and university K -12 Education initiatives.
