Job Description:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics for pre-service and in-service teachers. The candidate will be active in mathematics education research and in grant writing.  The candidate will work closely with other faculty members in the department to: review and revise mathematics courses for teachers at all levels, recruit prospective mathematics education students, and support current reform initiatives in mathematics education congruous with the efforts of WKU's SKyTeach program, which is a replication of UTeach.

 

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Mathematics Education or related degree with 24 hours of graduate-level mathematics at time of appointment; ABDs may be considered with the expectation of completion prior to the date of employment (August 2018)

  • Evidence of excellence in collegiate or K-12 teaching experience

  • Evidence of scholarly work in mathematics education

  • Effective communication skills
