Open Rank Position in Mathematics Education

Search Status:

Florida International University

The Department of Teaching and Learning in the College of Arts, Sciences & Education at Florida International University (FIU) invites applications for a full-time (9 month) Open-Rank position in Mathematics Education. FIU has a close relationship with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), the fourth largest school district in the nation, providing the largest number of new teachers to the district with 35% of M-DCPS teachers already possessing an FIU degree.  Thus, candidates must demonstrate strong ability in developing future teachers of mathematics, as well as working with in-service mathematics teachers.  Moreover, advancing STEM education is a core value across FIU, with mathematics education research and evidence-based practice of significant importance to that commitment.

Successful candidates will be expected to establish/maintain a strong research program (external funding, peer-reviewed scholarly work, national/international collaborations, mentoring of undergraduate/graduate researchers), teach/adapt/develop mathematics education courses, and provide service to their department/college in order to contribute to the Department mission in these domains.
