Position Overview

This full-time professional staff position supports and coordinates educator success for IDoTeach, graduate certificate secondary education, and other undergraduate secondary education programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment (40%)

  • Boise State new student orientations, transfer and non-traditional student orientations

  • On-campus course visits for IDoTeach

  • Community College and High School visits 

  • Career, College, and Counselor fairs

Academic Success (30%)

  • Transcript review and application processes

  • Roadmap for teaching certification within secondary education content degrees

  • Coordinating secondary advising for teacher education requirements 

Communications (20%)

  • Interface with secondary ed faculty outside COED

  • Collaborate with COED and University Communications

  • Maintain websites

Data (10%)

  • Data collector and analyst regarding program enrollment and retention

  • Coordinate secondary program reporting and accreditation processes with COED and secondary faculty

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Two (2) years similar work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in education

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field

  • Experience in admissions, advising, and/or higher education

  • Experience in communications and/or marketing

The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Written and oral communication skills

  • Ability and desire to build positive interpersonal relationships with secondary education students and faculty

  • Interest, experience, and/or ability to promote cultural competency and/or diversity
