St. John’s Prep is an inclusive, Catholic, Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School for

young men in grades 6 through 12. Founded on the Xaverian values of compassion,

humility, simplicity, trust and zeal, we educate students to be, do and stand for good in the world. We enroll 1,500 students from more than 60 communities.

St. John’s Prep seeks mathematics teachers for grades 9 through 12 for the 2021-2022 school year. The Mathematics Department offers a program that allows students “to welcome new challenges, question and justify their conjectures and solutions, test the reasonableness of those solutions, develop facility with and understanding of mathematical operations and procedures, and use them appropriately to make sense of the world.” (St. John’s Prep website). A complete listing of mathematics courses and their descriptions can be found here.

Mathematics teachers at St. John’s Preparatory School teach five (5) classes and are

required to complete a “duty” period during each semester. Prospective candidates

should have the competency and passion to engage every student in a rigorous college

preparatory curriculum. Candidates should also have a desire to become an active and

collegial member of an adult community of learners. We seek candidates who open to and willing to embrace a student-centered digital learning model that incorporates education technology tools, open education resources, and varied instructional strategies.

All members of the faculty are expected to give witness to the mission of St. John’s, as well as to our identity as an inclusive, Catholic, Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School. In addition to classroom teaching responsibilities, St. John’s encourages all members of the faculty to be involved in the life of the school beyond the classroom. The school offers a wide range of co-curricular, intramural and interscholastic programs. For more information about our academic, spiritual and student life programs, please visit our website at www.stjohnsprep.org.
