Request for Nominations
to Serve on AMTE Committees

Your Assistance Is Needed

In order to support AMTE's continued growth in its services for members, new committees are being formed to focus on a variety of important topics. These committees include the following: (1) Annual Conference; (2) Related Conferences; (3) Website; (4) NCTM Affiliation; (5) Membership; (6) Constitution Review; and (7) Nominations and Elections.

  1. The Annual Conference committee will be chaired by the President-elect or the Immediate Past President. It will determine arrangements for the conference, and be responsible for the conference, including the program, including issuing the Call for Proposals, reviewing proposals, and setting the program.
  2. The Committee on Related Conferences will receive requests from and make requests to organizers of related conferences, such as the NCTM Annual, NCTM Regionals, MAA, ATE, and other conferences, for AMTE-sponsored sessions on their conference programs. This committee will develop a collection of proposals from members who wish to speak at related conferences. This committee will review proposals and make acceptance decisions. Sessions accepted in this process will be sponsored by AMTE.
  3. The Website Committee will explore ways the website can be used to increase services to members and provide service to the profession. The Committee's tasks include reviewing current use and making suggestions for expansion. The committee will make recommendations to the AMTE Board concerning policies and procedures related to the AMTE Website.
  4. The Membership Committee is charged with increasing AMTE's membership and ensuring a high level of service to current members. It will make recommendations to the Board regarding new services that could be made available to members. It will review and revise the membership flyer as needed.
  5. The Constitution Review Committee will review AMTE's and bylaws and recommend any changes to the Board for membership approval. It will prepare statements for any recommended changes and monitor the procedures for instituting change.
  6. The Nominations and Elections Committee will request nominations, prepare a slate of members to run for AMTE offices, and announce the results of the election.
