Monica Hocter is a School Elementary Mathematics Specialist in Williamsburg, Virginia. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, is pursuing a Masters of Arts in Education Curriculum and Instruction, and has taught at the elementary and middle school levels for four years. She has spoken on various topics at several conferences including the annual Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference in both 2010 and 2011 and the Annual National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference in 2012. She will be speaking this coming fall at the College of William and Mary’s annual Math Day as well.

This year, she will be completing her K-8 Mathematics Specialist Certification through a Virginia state initiative. Monica is enrolled as a graduate student at the College of William and Mary. She is currently pursuing opportunities to guide teachers in exploring rigorous problem solving strategies to engage their students and enrich their learning.
