Summary of Recent Affiliate Accomplishments and Upcoming Activities:
On September 28, 2023, NYSAMTE hosted a virtual presentation for pre-service teachers by Andrea Faoro on New York State Education Department initiatives. On November 2, 2023, AMTE President Enrique Galindo met virtually with NYSAMTE to share HAMTE’s journey as an AMTE affiliate and offer advice on growing an affiliate organization. The executive board of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State (AMTNYS) approved NYSAMTE’s application to be a partner organization. NYSAMTE looks forward to future collaboration with AMTNYS.
