Invitation to Join the Mathematics Teacher Education Partnership (MTEP)

MTEP, a collaboration of secondary mathematics programs across the country, is pleased to invite additional programs to join its second generation “MTEP 2.0” network. The focus of this new network, which currently includes over 40 programs, is to support programs to organize as “networked improvement communities” (NICs) as they work to enact the vision of the AMTE Standards.

To apply, programs need to go through a trajectory of initial work to establish a NIC, including (1) establishing a stakeholder team, including letters of support from key stakeholders; (2) completing an analysis of the local problem space; (3) developing a working theory of action, including an aim and drivers to achieve that aim; (4) completing at least one improvement cycle; and (5) committing to cross-network data collection. MTEP has extensive resources to support programs in the application process and will also provide personalized coaching. If interested in beginning the process, please email W. Gary Martin martiwg@auburn.edu or Wendy M. Smith wsmith5@unl.edu.

While there is a rolling deadline for submission of applications, those completing the process by May 1, 2021 will be eligible to participate in the 2021 MTEP Conference, which will be held virtually June 28-30, 2021. For more information, see www.mtep.info or join us on OpenCanvas at www.mtep.info/join.
