Amanda Wooten
Biography
Amanda is a passionate and dedicated dual-certified educator with over 14 years of experience in the classroom. She is passionate about making mathematics engaging and accessible for all learners. Her instruction is student-focused, where she works to build connections with students while fostering excitement for learning mathematics. She received her undergraduate degree from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky in Elementary Education and Learning And Behavior Disorders (P-12). She received her graduate degree from Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Kentucky in special education and obtained an endorsement for Teacher Leader. She completed the Add+VantageMR 1 & 2 training , which equipped her with additional methods to help students learn and understand mathematical concepts.
Amanda is currently a student at the University of Louisville, where she is enrolled in both the Mathematics Specialist program and English as a Second Language (ESL) program. She is a 3rd grade teacher at Bates Elementary in Jefferson County Public Schools. She will soon transition into her new role as the math interventionist at Fairdale Elementary.
Amanda is extremely honored to receive the 2023 AMTE Elementary Math Specialist Scholarship. She is grateful for the opportunity to use the scholarship to continue pursuing her Elementary Math Specialist certification.
