Biography
John Elia is a fourth-year doctoral candidate at Pennsylvania State University, pursuing his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Mathematics Education. His primary research interests lie in proof and reasoning with a specific focus on example usage. John taught undergraduate math content courses for pre-service middle grades math teachers for his first three years in the program. He now serves as a pre-student teaching supervisor for pre-service middle and secondary math teachers. Before John started his Ph.D., he worked as a secondary mathematics and computer science teacher in Delaware.
