The University of Missouri at Columbia has a 4-year, full-time residential Ph.D. program in mathematics education. Doctoral students have opportunities to engage in research projects and with undergraduate preservice teachers. There are 6 faculty members (and 2 administrators) active in mathematics education scholarship and their research activities intersect around the empowerment of teachers and learners in K-12 settings. The faculty, in conjunction with the 10-12 doctoral students, form a strong and supportive community, with collaborative sub-groups as well as full-group meetings every Friday.
