Position Description:

The Class of 1963 Center for Academic Excellence at the United States Naval Academy invites applications for a Mathematics Learning Specialist.  The successful candidate will assist students learning mathematics by integrating learning strategies and the development of mathematics skills into workshops and auxiliary courses.  The Learning Specialist provides instruction in courses designed to support students who may experience difficulty with mathematics. This 10-month, full-time, non-tenure track position is for up to a three year appointment with the possibility of renewal.

Candidates must have a master's degree in applicable subject area, an ability to teach/tutor through Calculus III and Differential Equations and be a U.S. Citizen.

Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and/or tutoring experience in an academic setting, experience working effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body, experience that can support teaching/tutoring student use of mathematical software excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in Introductory Probability and Statistics/Matrix Theory/Linear Algebra.
