The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Texas State University, a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track position in PK-8 mathematics education at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. We seek candidates who share our commitment to identifying, understanding and addressing educational inequities, and to the recruitment and high-quality education of students from historically underserved and systemically marginalized communities. We are especially interested in applicants whose scholarly interests and work include attention teaching and learning of mathematics with concerns of race, ethnicity, multilingualism, immigrants, social class, gender, and diversity, broadly defined. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate elementary mathematics education courses, developing and publishing research in a sustained line of inquiry, collaboratively monitoring and refining degree programs, supporting student recruitment efforts, and providing service to the program, department, university and profession. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Individuals from historically underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply. Appointment begins Fall 2019.
