The Department of Teaching and Learning of Peabody College at Vanderbilt University invites applications for an open rank Professor of the Practice position (non-tenured) in Mathematics Education, beginning fall 2022.

This position offers opportunities to provide intellectual leadership for the mathematics components of our secondary teacher education programs. We seek a colleague who is knowledgeable about mathematics as a conceptual domain, has developed accomplished classroom instructional practices, can support our students in developing effective instructional practices for diverse groups of students, is committed to anti-racist instructional practices, and can forge relationships with school partners to serve both teacher education and research purposes. The successful applicant will also have a passion for investigating pre-service mathematics teachers’ development of effective practices, with attention to the engagement of socially, culturally, racially, and economically diverse students, working with both research and practice faculty in the area of mathematical thinking, learning and teaching.
