Applicants are invited to apply for a full-time postdoctoral position in mathematics education as part of the University of New Hampshire’s Postdoctoral Diversity and Innovation Scholars program.
The Postdoctoral Scholar in Mathematics Education will be involved in both independent and collaborative research working closely with mathematics education faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The Department is particularly interested in scholars with a focus on elementary and middle school mathematics education to balance the research and teaching expertise of current faculty. A range of methodological expertise is valued. The Scholar will benefit from the mathematics education faculty’s long history of outreach and engagement with schools, teachers, and professional organizations at the local, state, regional and national levels.
The Scholar working with a senior faculty mentor will be expected to develop a long-range research trajectory that includes publications and a record of external funding. In addition, the Scholar will have the opportunity to interact with department faculty and graduate students across the breadth of the mathematical sciences represented within the department through individual collaborations and seminars as well as the opportunity to teach one course per year at the undergraduate or graduate level.
The Scholar will receive professional development funds and additional professional development through participation in university and college academies with early career faculty, senior faculty mentoring, monthly cohort meetings, and involvement in department activities.
