The College of Education at East Carolina University invites applications and nominations for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Mathematics Education, Science Education and Instructional Technology Education. This is a full-time 12-month position. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative academic leader with exemplary leadership, administrative, personnel management, and supervisory skills. Responsibilities include facilitating the development and attainment of departmental goals with a clear vision for the Department’s future. Those responsibilities include but are not limited to: decision-making; negotiating teaching assignments, research, and service loads for faculty; managing and evaluating faculty and staff; providing leadership to the success of established collaborative partnerships; using innovative foresight to establish new partnership opportunities; collaborating with faculty within the department and across the college and university regarding curricular and related programmatic matters; building cultural proficiency and leading anti-discriminatory practices; managing budgets; involved in the hiring process of faculty and staff; and advocating for the department within the college.
