Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy-Astoria seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Math Teacher to join our faith-filled learning community for the upcoming academic year. We are looking for a passionate educator who is committed to fostering academic excellence, spiritual growth, and the holistic development of every child.
Job Title: Middle School Math Teacher
Date position will become available: September 1, 2025
Salary range: $42,000-$58,000
This position is ideal for someone who is interested in pursuing their Master’s Degree in Education at a Catholic University in NY as most of these universities offer a 30% tuition discount while the student is teaching in a Catholic School. Additionally, all student teaching requirements may be met through ongoing employment; there is potentially no additional field experience required.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated instruction to elementary school-aged students, adhering to New York State learning standards and the academic curriculum of ICCA.
- Integrate Catholic faith and values into daily lessons and classroom activities, ensuring all teaching conforms to the Catholic moral mission and the specific charism of Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy.
- Utilize a variety of effective teaching strategies, including inclusive practices, to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love of learning.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents regarding student achievement and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student success and contribute to the overall school community. Examples include retreat days, workshops, and webinars.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide events, such as meet and greets, open houses, and fundraisers,as required.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, or an Elementary or Secondary Education with a concentration in Math with a commitment to seeking Master’s in Math/ Education; Master's degree in Math preferred
- New York State Teaching Certification, or actively working towards licensure, is preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Catholic faith and its teachings.
- Ability to teach in a manner that aligns with the Catholic faith and its teachings and the specific values of Immaculate Conception Catholic Academy.
- Proficiency in utilizing a variety of teaching strategies, including inclusive practices, to engage diverse learners.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A growth mindset, strong work ethic, and a genuine love for working with children.
