The Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (Ed.D.) program at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley, offers a specializaiton in Mathematics Education. The program has a total of 66 hours.
The Ed. D. Mathematics specialization is designed so that graduates receive a foundation in research and best teaching practices in mathematics education. The program emphasizes mathematics learning and teaching for understanding to advance the mathematics performance for all students. Graduate students encounter mathematics education theory, become involved in research, scholarly writing and present their work in national and regional conferences.
