DESCRIPTION: Applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to research in mathematics education, including research that will allow for the generation of competitive grant proposals, as well as a history of excellence in teaching. To build on significant strengths and interdisciplinary connections at Montclair State University, we seek outstanding applicants who can work across disciplines as part of a growing initiative to pursue critical issues in Mathematics and STEM Education at any of the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
Faculty filling this position will be expected to teach and supervise doctoral students in the growing Ph.D. in Mathematics Education; teach and mentor students in the M.S. Mathematics with a concentration in Mathematics Education and the M.A. in Teaching Middle Grades Mathematics; and teach undergraduate and graduate mathematics content and pedagogy courses for elementary, middle and high school teaching. Faculty are expected to support and advance existing departmental programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to participate in departmental, university and professional activities.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Doctorate in Mathematics Education with a strong background in mathematics is required. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Mathematics and mathematics teaching experience at the K-12 level.
