The Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX invites applications for 2
tenure track positions in mathematics education. One at the rank of Assistant Professor, and another at the
rank of Associate/Full Professor. Our goal is to build on the current program level academic synergy
surrounding Curriculum Studies in School Mathematics, International Education in Mathematics Education,
STEM Education, as well as Mathematics Teacher Preparation.

Position responsibilities include a) maintaining a vibrant funding and research agenda that has achieved or
will achieve national/international significance, b) teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, and c)
enhancing and elevating mathematics education research and practice applied to the preparation of the next
generation of mathematics teachers, researchers and academic leaders. The Department of Teaching, Learning
and Culture has adopted and is dedicated to three primary commitments that drive all of our work:

Required Qualifications
• Earned doctorate with specialization in mathematics education
• Publications in high-quality outlets
• Research agenda that is well-defined and focused
• External funding history or potential
• Completion of teacher certification through an accredited program
• Commitment to research-based pedagogical practices
• Minimum of two years full-time school teaching experience
• Experience teaching undergraduate mathematics teaching methods courses
• Understanding of current issues and trends impacting mathematics education
• Commitment to Texas A&M’s core values: Excellence, Integrity, Leadership, Loyalty, Respect,

Responsibilities: Conduct high quality focused research, seek and secure external funding to support research
activities, model research-based pedagogical practices in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses,
effectively mentor graduate/undergraduate students, work collaboratively with faculty within our department
and across campus, and contribute to activities and initiatives in the Department, School, and University.

Appointment: These are nine-month appointments, but summer teaching opportunities are often available.
The anticipated start date is negotiable but anticipated to be August 1, 2024. Salary is very competitive and
commensurate with qualifications.
