BIPOC Mentoring Committee

Due to the overwhelming success of the Early Career BIPOC Mentoring Program, the AMTE Board has approved the creation of the BIPOC Mentoring Committee. At its inception, the Early Career BIPOC Mentoring Program was dedicated to fostering and encouraging mentor/mentee relationships specifically aimed at supporting early-career BIPOC faculty (including tenure-track, teaching, clinical, and professional track) as they navigate the demands of teaching, leading, scholarship, and service in the profession. Ongoing feedback from mentors and mentees suggested that mid-career BIPOC scholars would also benefit from an affinity and community-based mentoring program. Thus, the new BIPOC Mentoring Committee will be charged with implementing the newly expanded BIPOC Mentoring Program, which now serves both early- and mid-career BIPOC AMTE members.

The BIPOC Mentoring Committee constitutes the fourth committee located within the Membership Division and is composed of five members, including an Associate Vice President (AVP). Dr. Marrielle Myers will serve as the Committee’s inaugural AVP for one year. If you are interested in serving on this newly formed committee, please get in touch with Dr. Myers at mmyers22@kennesaw.edu.
