Biography
Elisabeth Johnson currently serves as a K-5 building-based math coach. She earned her ED.S in Leadership in Mathematics Education from Regent University in 2022. This reflects her dedication to continuous learning and expertise in the specialized area of mathematics education leadership, and provided opportunities for her to present at state-wide conferences, including Alabama Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ACTM) and ALNBCT Conference. Elisabeth was honored with the NCTM MET Emerging Teacher-Leaders in Elementary School Mathematics Grant in 2022.
Elisabeth's excellence in teaching and leadership is further underscored by her achievement as an Alabama State Teacher of the Year semifinalist in 2012-2013. She achieved National Board Certification in Early Adolescence Mathematics in 2013 and currently serves as an education consultant with the AAMU/UAH Regional Inservice Center and serves as the Lead Professional Learning Facilitator and Mentor for Huntsville City Schools, supporting teachers through the national board certification process.
Elisabeth's passion lies in collaborating with math teachers to enhance instructional practices. Her heart for education and mathematics is evident in her multifaceted roles as a coach, consultant, and leader. She is excited to continue her academic aspirations as she pursues a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Mathematics.
