Sam Houston State University welcomes applicants for a full-time tenure track position for Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Science & Engineering Technology. Teaching duties will include primarily face-to-face undergraduate content courses for elementary, middle grades, and secondary mathematics teacher programs, as well as online graduate courses in support of the MA in Mathematics. Candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in mathematics and hold a Doctorate in mathematics education. Scholarly activity, teaching, and service are required. Candidates need a strong mathematics background and have evidence of a research agenda in mathematics education. In addition, a strong foundation for excelling in both face-to-face and online teaching strategies is required. K-12 teaching experience is strongly preferred. Position begins Fall 2026.
