2018 Susan Gay Travel Scholarship Recipient - Christina Azmy

Biography

Christina Azmy is currently a doctoral student at North Carolina State University in Mathematics and Statistics Education. She is currently working with Dr. Hollylynne Lee on an NSF funded grant: Enhancing Statistics Teacher Education with E-Modules (ESTEEM). Prior to starting the program, she taught secondary mathematics for two and a half years in Clayton, North Carolina. Christina has obtained an Master of Arts in Teaching from North Carolina State University and a BA in Mathematics, with two minors in Language and Liberal Arts and Middle Eastern Studies from the Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests include statistics education, pre-service teacher self-efficacy, and teacher-student relationships.
