Summary of Recent Affiliate Accomplishments and Upcoming Activities:

1. We had a KAMTE strand at the Fall 2018 Kentucky Council of Teachers of Mathematics Fall Conference.  The sessions were designed to highlight topics of importance to the constituents of KAMTE.  KAMTE also sponsored a poster session for preservice teachers at the 2018 KCTM Conference. Six posters representing three universities were presented.

2. In 2017-2018, KAMTE has had several informational sessions at conferences, including the KYMAA conference , the Kentucky Center for Mathematics conference, the KEEP Summit and the KATE Conference. These sessions are an attempt to raise awareness of KAMTE across the state.

3. In March 2017, KAMTE hosted a Statistics Education Workshop, led by Chris Franklin from the American Statistical Association and Sue Peters from the University of Louisville.  The workshop was well attended and received.  Sixteen people attended and reported that they enjoyed the day, learned a lot and appreciated the opportunity to network wtih other mathematics educators. We will have a follow up to this workshop in March 2018.

4.  In May 2017, KAMTE hosted an AMTE Standards Summit, led by Jenny Bay-Williams from the University of Louisville.  Participants had the opportunity to dig deep into the AMTE Standards and discuss our programs currently meet the standards and how we can better incorporate the Standards into our programs. The summit was such a success that we plan on having another in May 2018.
