Communication from the AMTE Board of Directors

During this crazy time in all of our lives, we want to take a moment to briefly share recent happenings within our Board and the organization.

First and foremost, welcome again to Dr. Shari Stockero, our new Executive Director! While Shari has taken the reins, Tim is still supporting the organization during this time of transition. We thank Tim for his seven years of dedicated service to the organization.

For those of you who could attend the Annual Conference, it was a wonderful opportunity to meet new and reconnect with colleagues, engage in professional development, and strategically plan for next year. The AMTE Board had its day-long meeting before the conference, and shared hellos and goodbyes during the Annual Business Meeting. We sincerely thank outgoing Board members for their service:

  • Randy Philipp, Immediate Past President
  • Sandi Cooper, AMTE Secretary
  • Eva Thanheiser, AMTE Board Member-at-Large
  • Maggie McGatha, Vice-President, Membership Division
  • Lynn Breyfogle, Vice-President, Professional Learning Division

We also want to introduce incoming Board members Megan Burton (President-Elect), Cynthia Taylor (Secretary), Marielle Myers (Member at Large), Lisa Poling (VP for Membership Division) and Jennifer Suh (VP for Professional Learning Division). All of the board members are listed on the Leadership page of the AMTE Website.

The Annual Report was also distributed at the conference. If you did not attend, we encourage you to skim the organization's 2019 Annual Report, which highlights activities and accomplishments across AMTE. If you would like a print copy for whatever reason, please email me (stockero@mtu.edu) and I will send you a copy.

Stay well and please reach out with any questions and/or comments for the Board.

Respectfully submitted,

Shari Stockero and Tim Hendrix
