Community Circle Information

The Community Circles are growing and changing! We have four new Community Circles:

    • Integrating Elementary Mathematics Content and Pedagogy
    • Using Children's Literature in Mathematics Education
    • Affiliates Angles
    • Assessment, Measurement and Evaluation
  • One Community Circle made some transitions to their title and description to better serve the needs of MTEs during the current political climate, which resulted in the newly-named Culturally Sustaining Practices in Mathematics Education Community Circle (previously Anti-racist Teaching Practices in Mathematics Education Community Circle).
  • One Community Circle (Wellness and Productivity) decided not to continue and has ended this semester.
  • One Community Circle (Early Career MTEs [including Graduate Students]) is in transition and looking for new opportunities to grow and develop.

AMTE Conference Registration and Membership Scholarship

The Membership Committee is excited to announce that both Krista Hocker and Niranjon Chandra Paul have both been selected as awardees for the AMTE Conference Registration and Membership Scholarship. Please join me in congratulating them! If you are a member of AMTE and meet the following criteria, consider nominating yourself for this award next year!

Award Description:

Applicants’ work must focus on the preparation or development of mathematics teachers, and applicants must show that they have limited travel funds offered by their institution or employer. Applicants must be attending the AMTE annual conference for the first or second time but need not be current AMTE members to apply. Previous recipients of this scholarship are not eligible for this award. We encourage Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) scholars and/or those from underrepresented institutions in AMTE (e.g., Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), K-12 school district leaders, etc.) to apply.
