Biography
Dan Battey is a Professor of Mathematics Education at the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He studies teaching that disrupts racism for African American and Latinx students in mathematics. Dr. Battey is currently using the lenses of teacher-student relationships and traditional mathematics logics to both counter whiteness and name antiracist mathematics instruction. He has served the field as an editorial panel member for JRME, a member of the PME-NA steering committee, the chair of AERA SIG-RME, as well as on editorial boards for JMB, JUME, and TCR.
