Alicia Erwin
Biography
Alicia Erwin is currently a doctoral candidate in Mathematics Education at Illinois State University, where she is working on her dissertation: Investigating the Impact of Content Courses on Elementary Preservice Teachers’ Instructional Visions. During her time at ISU, she has taught mathematics content courses for elementary preservice teachers. Alicia also completed a research project that focused on implementing teaching rehearsals with secondary mathematics preservice teachers during their first methods course. Prior to beginning her doctoral degree, she taught high school mathematics for 11 years at three different high schools. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics Education from Purdue University and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University Chicago. Alicia has a passion for providing preservice teachers experiences with doing and teaching mathematics in ways that cultivate their vision of effective, equitable mathematics instruction in their future classrooms.
