The Rice University Office of STEM Engagement (RSTEM) is seeking an Assistant Director for Mathematics. The Assistant Director for Mathematics position has four primary areas of responsibility:
1) Teaching and mentoring RSTEM teachers
2) Evaluating RSTEM teacher professional development programs, curricular programs, and programs that support district and school improvement
3) Creating and implementing RSTEM student, teacher and administrator assessments and mathematics and science curriculum
4) Writing and submitting RSTEM grant proposals and articles for publication.

As part of the necessary skill set, the Assistant Director for Mathematics will have teaching experience, ideally in an academic environment.

The Rice Office of STEM Engagement provides math, science, engineering, and computer science enrichment to students and teachers in the Greater Houston region. RSTEM’s mission is to provide high quality, large scale professional development programs and resources, focusing on STEM content, research based inquiry teaching strategies, teacher leadership, and new developments in math, science engineering, and technology.
