Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Mathematics Education (preferred) or Mathematics. A doctoral degree is required. For the Mathematics Education position, a mathematics teaching certificate is required and PK-12 mathematics teaching experience is preferred. All applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching, evidence of excellence in teaching, and potential for research activities. Duties include teaching 12 credit hours per semester, scholarly activities, service, and advising.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University, founded in 1909 as a teacher college, continues the strong tradition of producing outstanding educators for southeast Oklahoma and north Texas. Student enrollment on the campus(s) is approximately 4,500 and the campus is situated in rural Oklahoma. The main campus is located in Durant, Oklahoma, which is 80 miles north of Dallas, Texas, and 150 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The preferred start date is August 1, 2019, and may require multiple campus assignments as well as varied time and delivery methods. Review of applications will begin March 1, 2019 and continue until the position is filled.
