Ball State University’s Department of Mathematical Sciences is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Mathematical Sciences, beginning August 14, 2020. The length of the probationary period, normally seven years, may be reduced for the exceptional candidate. Specific duties as a faculty member include teaching content and methodology for prospective and in-service teachers at the elementary, middle school and secondary levels; scholarship; service.

 

Minimum qualifications:  Doctorate in mathematics education from an accredited institution, by date of appointment; current or previous teaching licensure or certification; at least two years of K-12 teaching experience.

 

Employer will consider sponsorship.

 

Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematical science; experience or interest in teaching through distance education; experience working in a culturally diverse academic environment.

Although the option to upload copies of transcripts is available in the application, an official, original transcript showing the highest related degree earned is required at time of hire (even if obtained at Ball State University).  Additionally, a degree verification will be ordered at time of hire.
