USMAPS is the preparatory school for USMA, West Point, NY. As an instructor, you will teach 18-22 year old men and women who are members of the U.S.Army and have been selected by USMA. You will be a civilian GS employee for the Department of the Army with a 12-month contract and typical benefits: paid vacation, paid sick leave, federal holidays, medical insurance, and retirement. You will teach remedial algebra through calculus. You will work with students on study skills and mentor students as they embrace the U. S. Army and West Point values. The students attend class daily taking classes in English, mathematics, science, and study skills.
We are looking for candidates with at least a bachelor's degree, but preferably a master's degree or higher in mathematics education or a related field with experience in education and teaching remedial students from diverse backgrounds. The salary range in $85,236 to $110,803 per year.
