The AMTE Technology committee hopes you will consider writing for the Tech Talk blog. In the Standards for Preparing Teachers of Mathematics, AMTE highlights the important role of technology in mathematics teaching and learning. In particular, the standards call for teachers’ proficiency with “with tools and technology designed to support mathematical reasoning and sense making, both in doing mathematics themselves and in supporting student learning of mathematics.” (AMTE, 2017, p.11). The purpose of the blog is to provide a space for us, the members of AMTE, to share our success stories of technology integration in a variety of environments to see how the different tools are being used and the positive outcomes that resulted in our work with preservice and inservice teachers. The content of the blog posts may include descriptions and uses of various mathematical technologies, tools that allow teachers to communicate and reflect on their work, social media spaces in which teachers and teacher educators discuss their work, and engaging technology-based activities that we have used with pre-service and inservice mathematics teachers, to name a few.

If you are using technology in engaging ways with teachers and students, we encourage you to write a description of the technology and how you are using it and submit your idea using the form on the Tech Talk blog on the AMTE webpage.
