In this presentation, findings from a longitudinal research project investigating AI's role in mathematical classrooms, focusing on PMTs' engagement with Khanmigo are gven. The study, involving twelve PMTs, explores factors influencing the AI tool's effectiveness in fostering conceptual understanding and critical thinking. PMTs prefer interactive engagements with Khanmigo, valuing active participation over direct answers. They appreciate Khanmigo's conversational abilities and emphasize the importance of specificity in interactions, especially in mathematical contexts. Educators interested in integrating AI into their classrooms will find this session useful.
