The AMTE Nominations and Elections Committee is seeking nominations for consideration as candidates for President Elect, Treasurer, and Board Member-at-Large. To nominate a candidate, confirm the candidate’s willingness to serve, and then go to the AMTE website where there is a nomination form to complete with the individual’s name, professional affiliation and position, email address, and a three sentence description of the candidate’s strengths and qualifications for the position.
The deadline to send nominations is May 15, 2015. Self-nominations are permitted. The candidate will then be contacted to complete the online application form which is due July 15, 2015. Watch for the extended announcement on the AMTE website that will include detailed descriptions for the positions.
After reviewing all nominations submitted by the July 15th deadline, the Committee will formulate an election slate of two candidates for each position, taking into consideration the following: candidates' professional qualifications, previous AMTE involvement, and diversity (e.g., years of experience, racial or ethnic background, affiliation (mathematics or education department or other organization), size of institution, geographic region, and so on) as aligned with the current composition of the Board membership.
