Towards a More Comprehensive, Inclusive Approach to Mathematics Teacher Education
Connections
An official AMTE publication for the mathematics teacher education community.
Summer 2025
As we wrap up another school year, it's time to relax, refresh... and start planning for the future. During some uncertain times, we hope you will find guidance in our President's message and the article from our early career award winner, Courtney Baker. We also feature a number of scholarships, awards, and professional development opportunities to help your work in the fall and provide the opportunity to attend the annual conference. Make sure you check these out and share with all your colleagues!

We explored how computational thinking can be used as a framework to help pre-service teachers interpret the standards for mathematical practices (SMPs). Our results suggest that computational thinking enriched pre-service teachers’ interpretations of the SMPs by providing a more accessible lens through which to understand the eight SMPs.
Please encourage teachers and graduate students to apply for one of the scholarships.
