Teacher education program in the department of Educational Science at Bilkent University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position, effective September 1, 2020. This is an open rank position; all qualified applicants at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor levels will be considered.

The Department of Educational Science offers graduate level pre-service and in-service teacher education programs, and is dedicated to preparing well-qualified, highly effective school teachers. The MA in Curriculum and Instruction Program with Teaching Certificate (CITE) intends to prepare a new generation of teachers. The program is unique in that it aims to blend both academic and professional studies, offering a graduate degree with dual certification: a nationally recognized teaching certificate in five content areas (Mathematics, Biology, Physics, English and Turkish) and an International Baccalaureate Teaching and Learning certificate (http://teached.bilkent.edu.tr). The department also offers another MA program for practising teachers, and a PhD program in Curriculum and Instruction (http://gse.bilkent.edu.tr/untitled-2/).

Applicants must have an earned doctorate degree in (Secondary) Mathematics Education, Curriculum and Instruction with specialization in Mathematics Education, or a closely related field. Preference will be given to applicants who have a publication record in reputable journals, and a strong research agenda. Earned teaching certificate or experience in K-12 context is an asset.

Duties associated with this position include teaching graduate courses, observing and giving feedback to student teachers on their performance, supervising graduate theses, maintaining active scholarly work in the field, and serving on department or university level committees.
