Communication from the AMTE Board of Directors

I hope this finds you all well and planning for some rest and relaxation this summer!

Following the conference, much of the work of the board takes place behind the scenes and thus is not visible to the membership. The board continues to meet monthly, however, and has been working on several issues. A few highlights of the ongoing work are shared below.

Conference: The board reviewed the feedback from the 2021 Virtual Conference and is already looking forward to the 2022 Conference. The Conference and Annual Program Committees, in particular, are hard at work making plans for Las Vegas in 2022.

Website Updates and Archiving Organization Documents: An important part of the work of the board following the conference is making sure that the AMTE website is updated to reflect new committee members, new organizational efforts, etc. This year, we are also working to create centralized archives of important organizational documents to make it easier to pass information along to new VPs and AVPs when they join the AMTE leadership.

Marketing Ad Hoc Committee: A new marketing committee was formed, led by AVP for Marketing Sandi Cooper, to consider how we can better market AMTE to audiences that we have not previously reached well.

Strategic Priorities: Many Divisions and Committees are considering how they can align their work to supporting the goals put forth in our new Long Term Goals document.

STaR: STaR will again meet virtually this year, with the design of the meeting similar to last year’s virtual event. A follow-up meeting with the 2020 cohort will also be held at the 2022 Conference, and a face-to-face meeting with the 2021 cohort will be held in summer 2022 in Park City, Utah. We are excited about beginning our work with a great group of STaR fellows!

Upcoming Opportunities: Be sure to consider the following opportunities, either for yourself or to nominate a colleague!

Have a wonderful summer!

Respectfully submitted,
