Inviting Applications
Graduate students should fill out an application for the Susan Gay AMTE Conference Travel Scholarship using the link below. The deadline for completing an application for the 2026 AMTE Annual Conference is June 15, 2026.
About this AMTE Award
The Susan Gay Graduate Student Conference Travel Scholarship, named after Susan Gay in honor of her extraordinary service to AMTE over many years as conference director, president, secretary, and board member-at-large, was established to provide graduate students financial support to attend the AMTE Annual Conference. Each year up to four doctoral students making steady progress towards completion of their degree will receive the award. Applications will be screened initially based on the eligibility of the application and then put into a lottery based on geographic location.
The award will cover the cost of graduate student early registration. After attending the conference and submitting a reflection on their experiences at the AMTE conference, the awardees will receive an additional $400 to offset the cost of attending the conference. The reflection should focus on how specific formal and informal sessions or events impacted their understanding of being a mathematics teacher educator. This may include experiences relating to expanding or supporting teaching interests, research interests, and/or goals as a future mathematics teacher educator.
